Overview of Object Properties

Any object created on a page in a publication has a set of properties that define:

Some objects, such as Video, Animation and Slideshow objects also include whether they are playing when they appear on screen or whether they need an action to replay them – these objects have an extra tab, which will appear in the Properties dialog.

Note:
The Timeline and Script objects do not actually appear on the page itself and therefore do not have a Properties dialog box.

To open an object’s Properties dialog:

  1. Double-click with the left mouse button on the object you wish to see the properties of – this will open the Properties dialog.

  2. Alternatively, click the object once to select it and press Ctrl+R to open the Properties dialog.

  3. Click the Tab heading in the Properties dialog that you want to change, then make your changes and click on the Apply button to save your changes.

  4. If the Tab heading you require is not visible in the Properties dialog, use the image\Tabs_Scroll_Arrows.jpg arrows to the right of the dialog to locate the tab.

Note:
Not all of the Property tabs will appear in the object’s Properties dialog – some tabs are only applicable for some objects e.g. the Video tab only appears when you draw a Video object on the page.
