MultiFrame tab

The MultiFrame tab in the Properties dialog box will only appear in the dialog for MultiFrame objects. This tab allows you to automatically play each frame in a MultiFrame as well as control how long and how many times a frame is displayed.

Note:
If the Play Automatically option in this tab is not selected, you can only switch between frames in a MultiFrame using actions – see Introducing the MultiFrame Actions for more information.

The MultiFrame tab only appears in the MultiFrame object and not the Frame objects contained within the MultiFrame object – see Using the MultiFrame Tool for more information.

To edit the MultiFrame tab settings:

  1. Tick the Play Automatically option if you want the frames to play in sequence when the MultiFrame is displayed on the current page. When this option is ticked, the rest of the options in this tab are enabled.

Note:
When you create a MultiFrame box with the MultiFrame tool image\Icon_Object_MultiFrame.jpg from the Tools toolbar, the MultiFrame tab will automatically be displayed. This option is NOT ticked by default, which means the frames within the MultiFrame will not play – this is because the MultiFrame actions are normally used to display different frames.

  1. Use the seconds per frame box to add the time that each frame should appear on the page before the next frame is displayed. Use the spin buttons to set the time or type the time directly into the box.

Note:
This option sets the same time for each frame within the MultiFrame. If you want different frames to display for different amounts of time, use the MultiFrame actions.

  1. Use the Play panel to set the number of times each frame should appear. There are three options: Once (i.e. play all frames once and stop at the last frame in the sequence); times (i.e. set the number of times to loop from the first frame to the last, then stop at the last frame in the sequence); Continuously (i.e. loop continuously through the frames until either the MultiFrame is hidden on the page or a new page is displayed).

  2. Click on the Apply button to save your changes.
