Effects tab

The Effects tab in the Properties dialog box allows you to set up special effects for an object on a page. There are a variety of effects to choose from and each has their own settings that will appear on the tab when you select the effect from the Category list in this tab. The effects are:

Blend

Blur

Flare

Shadow

Stretch

Texture

Transparency

Note:
Several of these effects are available via shortcut buttons on the toolbar, with drop down palettes providing the most common examples.

To edit the Effects settings:

  1. Click on one of the effects in the Category list. This will bring up a different set of options in an effects panel on the right side of the tab.

  2. Fill in the options in the effects panel for the effect you have chosen.

  3. Click on the Apply button to save your changes.

  4. If you want to add more than one effect to an object, then repeat steps 1 to 3 for each effect.

  5. Click on the Apply button to save all your changes.

Note:
You can get some interesting effects when you apply the effects to different Object States. For example, when an object is shown in a Normal state, you may have no effect, however, when the object is in a Mouse Over state, the object may flare or stretch, thus giving it the appearance of being animated.
