The Shadow Effect

Shadow is one of the options in the Category list on the Effects tab in an object’s Properties dialog box.

This effect creates a drop shadow of the object. You can change the width of the shadow as well as the direction, transparency, colour and blur of the shadow.

To edit the settings for the Shadow effect:

  1. If you want to change the width of the shadow, use the spin buttons beside the Width option to increase or decrease the width of the shadow, one pixel at a time.

  2. Click on the down button beside the Colour option to change the colour of the shadow. A drop down colour well will open from which you can select your colour.

  3. If you want to change how transparent the shadow is, use the spin buttons beside the Transparency option to increase or decrease the level of transparency.

  4. If you want to change the amount a shadow fades at the edge, use the spin buttons beside the Blur option to increase the amount of blur.

  5. Click on one of the Direction options to specify where the shadow will fall in respect to the object.

  6. Click on the Apply button to save your changes.
