Custom Trigger

image\Trigger_Custom.jpg

The Custom Trigger allows you to trigger an action when a Custom Action is activated. This trigger allows you to enter a name for this customised trigger (e.g. Show all correct answers) – the customised trigger will only be activated when a Custom Action (containing this name) on a different trigger is activated.

Note:
This effectively means that one action (i.e. a Custom Action) can set-off a series of its own actions – which we will call the custom action list. The custom action list will be created under the Custom Trigger – see Explaining Custom Triggers and Actions for more information.

Setting up the Custom Trigger:

1. Add the Custom Trigger trigger to your Actions Organiser, as described in Creating and Editing Actions. The Custom Trigger tab will automatically appear when you add the trigger.

Note:
The trigger can be added to any object on a page but is normally added to the page itself.

2. Type the name of the trigger in the Trigger Name box. The name can include alphabetic or numeric characters and can contain spaces. Make sure the name is descriptive.

Note:
The name you enter here must appear in a Custom Action or this trigger will never be activated and the custom action list will never be run.

3. Click on the Apply button to save your changes.

4. Click on the Actions tab in the Actions dialog to select an action or actions to add to the trigger.

5. Go to Choosing an Action to list all of the actions you can add to your trigger.
