Printing Your Publication

In Opus, you can print the current page displayed in the editor or print the whole publication. The printout will contain a snapshot of the page and its contents (known as a thumbnail). You can add the name of the publication to the page as well as the notes from the Notes View panel at the bottom of the page.

Note:
As well as printing your publication, you can email a page using the E-mail Publication option on the File menu.

To print the current page:

  1. First save your publication – see Save a publication.

  2. Click on the File menu, then select the Print Current Page option. This will open the standard Windows Print dialog box.

  3. Select your printer, then click on the OK button to start the print.

Note:
The current page will print based on the options that you previously set in the Print Publication option, described below.

To print the whole publication:

  1. First save your publication – see Save a publication.

  2. Click on the File menu, then select the Print Publication option. This will open the Print Publication Layout dialog box.

  3. Set the number of pages you want per page in the Panels per page box. Use the spin buttons to increase or decrease the number of pages per page.

  4. Set the number of pages across the page in the Panels across box. Use the spin buttons to increase or decrease the number of pages per page.

  5. Set the number of pages down the page in the Panels down box. Use the spin buttons to increase or decrease the number of pages per page.

  6. Select where the page should be aligned on the page in the Alignment section. Click on the Left, Centre or Right option in the left column to set the horizontal position of the page. Click on the Top, Centre or Bottom option in the right column to set the vertical position of the page.

  7. Click on the Include page titles option if you want the name of the page to appear beside the thumbnail of the page on the printout.

  8. Click on the Include publication title option if you want the name of the publication to appear as a header at the top of each page on the printout.

  9. Set the options in the Include notes view panel – see Printing the Notes View.

  10. Click on the Print Preview button to check the changes you have made before you print or click on the Print button to start the print.

  11. Click on the Cancel button to cancel the changes you have made.

  12. Click on the OK button to save your changes.

Note:
The settings you make in the Publication Print Layout dialog box are also used by the Print Current Page option. Once you set the options in this dialog, they will be used every time you print this publication until you edit your settings.
