Converting an existing publication

If you want one of your existing Opus publications to run inside the Adobe Flash Player you must re-publish the publication as an Opus Flex publication.

Converting an existing publication:

  1. Open your existing publication in Opus and then select the Opus Flex option in the Type tab of the Publications Properties dialog.

  2. Select the Publish option from the Publication menu – this will open the Publish Wizard.

  3. Run the Publish wizard. On the page showing the Settings button, click on the button to open the Publish Settings dialog for this publication – the Publish Settings dialog is different for Opus Flex publications. Make your changes to the settings and then start the publish process – see more information below for links to the Opus Flex settings dialogs.

  4. Opus keeps a report log of the process of publishing so that you can review the process to identify any problems. The final page of the Publish wizard provides an option to show details, which will display a list of what occurred during the process of publishing. The contents of this list are marked by a series of symbols indicating the nature of the message. This is a very useful option when you are converting an existing publication with the Opus Flex plug-in as you can identify features or functions that are unsupported in Opus Flex.

Note:
When you create new publications that will be published to run on the Adobe Flash Player, it is always best to initially set the type of publication to Opus Flex – this way you will only be provided with features in Opus that are supported in the Adobe Flash Player.
