Grid & Outline page

The Grid & Outline page in the View folder of the Options dialog box allows you to specify how the grid works in the Opus editor and how objects are outlined when you select the Outline Mode.

The Grid & Outline tab is split into three panels:

1. The Grid Preferences panel allows you to set up the grid, which is used to help keep objects aligned and consistent on a page.

2. The Outline panel allows you to set the colour of objects when viewed in Outline Mode and which objects will be visible on the page.

3. The Guide panel allows you to control the appearance and snap settings of the editor layout guides. Not guides are only available when the rulers are turned on.

To edit the Grid Preferences panel settings:

1. The Visible spacing panel shows the number of pixels between each dot or line on the grid. Use the spin buttons to increase or decrease the number of pixels between each dot or line.

2. Click on the Same as visible spacing option in the Snap Spacing panel if you want to snap objects to the same positions set in the Visible spacing box.

3. Click on the Divide visible grid into option in the Snap Spacing panel if you want the visible grid (set in Visible spacing box) to be further divided, thus allowing you to have a finer invisible grid to which objects are snapped to. Use the spin buttons to increase or decrease the number of pixels for the invisible grid.

4. Use the Grid Appearance panel to select how the grid is displayed on the page. Click on either the Dots or Lines option, and then select the colour of the grid in the Colour box. Click on the down button beside the Colour box to open a drop down colour well.
