Some sophisticated programs can mean that the layout of your Opus page becomes quite cluttered and on older machines it can be slow to redraw. Outline mode lets you display all your objects as simple boxes
1: Select Outline Mode from the View menu
2: To reverse the setting, simply repeat the process.

2: Select the Grid & Outline tab on the Options dialog that appears.
