The Bookmarks dialog box

The Bookmarks dialog box is part of the Bookmarks feature in Opus and is set using the Show Bookmark Dialog action. The dialog box will appear when the user triggers the Show Bookmark Dialog action in your publication and is similar to the following:

The Bookmarks dialog box is normally used when you have created a publication using Multiple Bookmarks. Although this dialog can be used with Single Bookmarks publications, there really isn’t any point to do so (see Single vs. Multiple Bookmarks for more information).

The Bookmark dialog box features:

  1. The Bookmarks section on the left will show the name of all the pages that have been bookmarked in your publication.

Note:
If you have used the Single Bookmarks mode then only one page name will ever appear in this list. If you intend to use bookmarks, then make sure your page names are descriptive (i.e. don’t name them Page 1, Page 2, etc.), so the user knows which page it refers to.

  1. Use the Go to button to move to the page highlighted in the Bookmarks list. This will automatically open the page and close this dialog box.

  2. Use the Add button to add the current page displayed to the Bookmark list.

Note:
If the Add button is disabled (i.e. greyed out) then the current page displayed has already been bookmarked (i.e. added to the Bookmark list).

  1. Use the Delete button to remove the current page name from the Bookmark list.

Note:
This button does NOT delete the page; it only removes the bookmark for the page.

  1. Use the Clear All button to remove all bookmarks from the current publication.

  2. Use the OK or Cancel button to close the Bookmarks dialog.

Note:
Remember the Bookmarks dialog box will only appear on screen when a Show Bookmark Dialog action is triggered.
