Set Report File Action

This action allows you to specify the filename of the report to be used by the Write to Report File action.

Setting up the Set Report File action:

1. Add the Set Report File action to your trigger, as described in adding actions. The Set Report File tab will automatically appear when you add the action.

2. At the top of the Set Report File tab is a combo box listing the available report names. It is possible to open and write to up to 5 report files simultaneously. To assign a file a specific report file, select it in this combo.

Note:
The names used in this combo are purely suggestions and have no effect on what information is written to the report file. They simply allow you to use up to five different reports within a single publication.

3. Click the Overwrite existing contents if you want the report to be emptied before writing to it. By default the report log will append any new entries to the existing contents.

4. The Insert Variable button allows you to insert variables quickly into the filename. This allows you to create a single action that will respond differently depending on a variable's value, for example, the name of the user.

5. Click on the Apply button to save your changes.

Note:
The report file is automatically closed when the publication exits, so it is not necessary to use a Close Report File action unless you want to write to multiple report files within the same publication..
