Reset Action

The Reset action allows you to reset the animation on a particular object so that the animation stops and returns the object to its original state or position before the animation started.

Note:
You can choose to reset all animation actions for the particular object or you can select specific animation action types from the list provided. If you do reset all animation actions then the object will return to its original drawn shape.

Setting up the Reset action:

1. Add the Reset action to your trigger, as described in adding actions. The Reset tab will automatically appear when you add the action.

2. At the top of the Reset tab is the Object List. Click the name of the object in the list that you want to reset. By default, This Object is selected (see Note).

Note:
Only one object can be selected from the Object list. The default option This Object refers to the object in which this action has been placed – this option is useful if you want to copy this action to other objects that you want to reset because you do not have to re-select the new object name from the list.

3. Use the Action panel to specify the animation styles that you want to reset. By default all of the Animation actions (e.g. the Roll, Spin and Rotate actions) are ticked, which means they will be reset to the objects original drawn position. If you don’t want to reset an Animation action (e.g. the Fade action) then remove the tick from the checkbox beside the name of the action.

4. Use the Duration option to set the time over which the animation will happen. Use the spin buttons to increase or decrease the time.

Note:
If the duration is set to 0 seconds, the animation will happen immediately. In other words, you won’t see the animation, just the end result.

If the duration is set to a time period, then the original animation will be reversed until the object is back to its original drawn shape. Please note, the duration set in the original animation action does not affect the duration set in this action e.g. if an object was spun for 2 seconds and rotated for 5 seconds, you can reset both animations in 0.5, 1, 5 or as many seconds as you want.

5. Click on the down arrow to the right of the Speed Control option to select how the object will animate over a length of time, e.g. at a regular pace or faster at the beginning or end of the animation, and so on. By default, the Constant is selected.

6. Use the Send "Synchronise to End" trigger if you want to start a Synchronise to Animation End trigger when the object reaches the end of the animation.

7. Click on the Apply button to save your changes.
