Field of View Action

The Field of View action allows you to alter or set the current field of view angle (which can be thought of as the zoom level) of a QuickTime VR movie.

Setting up the Field of View action:

1. Add the Field of View action to your trigger, as described in adding actions. The Field of View tab will automatically appear when you add the action.

2. At the top of the Field of View tab is the Object List. Click the name of the object that you want to change the pan angle of.

3. Click on the Type options in the Type option panel to control how the field of view is adjusted. Select Adjust Current Position to change the value relative to the current position. Select Overwrite Current Position to set the field of view to a specific value.

4. Use the Amount option to set the desired value.

Note:
The range of the field of view that a QuickTime VR movie supports is set by the movie author. The only fixed value is that is the 0 initial field of view. Any value outside the supported range will be clipped to the valid range.

For ease of use the value taken by this action is 100 times the value expected by the QuickTime VR movie. For example; if the QuickTime VR movie allows a Field of View from 0.01 to 1.2, the range for the action is from 1 to 120.

5. Click on the Apply button to save your changes.
