This action is used to start a video or animation on this page. To add a video or animation to your page, use the Video object tool image\Icon_Object_Video.jpg on the Tools toolbar. This action is also used to resume a video that has been paused using the Pause Video action.

You can run many types of videos and animations, including ASF, AVI, FLI, FLC, GIF, MPG, MOV and SWF file formats. Please note, for MOV and SWF file formats, you will need QuickTime v4 or above to be installed on your machine.

Note:
When you first create a Video object, the Start automatically option in the Video tab for the object is set. However, if you turned off the Start automatically option on the video, you can use the Play Video action to start the video.

Setting up the Play Video action:

1. Add the Play Video action to your trigger, as described in adding actions. The Play Video tab will automatically appear when you add the action.

2. Click on the name of the video in the video list that you want to play. The video list contains all of the videos on this page.

3. Use the Time section of the tab if you want to play a portion of the video. The Start and End options allow you to specify a start and end point for the video/animation. Use the spin buttons to add the time to boxes.

4. Use the Send "Synchronise to Start" trigger option if you want to start a Synchronise to Start trigger when the video begins to play.

5. Click on the Apply button to save your changes.
