Move Object To Layer Action

image\Action_Move_To_Layer.jpg

The Move Object To Layer action allows you to move an objects layer position temporarily so that an animation can appear to move over or behind an object. Note that this is distinct from the layering in the editor. In this scheme each object is on its own layer.

Note:
Normally, an objects layer position is changed in the Organiser. The higher up the list of objects on the page, then the higher in the layer order they become; objects that are lower in the list order will appear behind objects higher in the list if they overlap on the page.

Setting up the Move Object To Layer action:

1. Add the Move Object To Layer action to your trigger, as described in adding actions. The Move Object To Layer tab will automatically appear when you add the action.

2. At the top of the Move Object to Layer tab is the Object List. Click the name of the object in the list that you want to move to another layer.

Note:
Only one object can be selected from the Object list.

3. Use the Layer panel to set the number of the layer you want to move the object to. By default the layer number 0 is displayed. Click on the down arrow to the right of the Layer option to select a positive or negative number from the list.

The drop down list contains a continuous stream of positive numbers (i.e. 1, 2, 3, etc.) and negative numbers (i.e. –1, -2, -3, etc.) above and below the displayed Layer number zero. Objects that are given a number below zero will appear behind normal objects. Objects that are given a number above zero will appear above normal objects (see Layer Examples).

4. Click on the Apply button to save your changes.

Note:
This option only sets one object at a time. If you want to change more than one objects layer position, add this action again for each object.
