Organiser

The Organiser is a panel running down the left of the screen. It allows you to choose and organise the various components available to your publication or contained within it. There is a set of tabs that allows you to choose the sections of the Organiser.

Pages

This section holds all the pages in your publication. They are displayed as thumbnails of your actual design. They are listed in the order they will display. You can reorder your pages here by dragging them around into the order required.

Resources

This section of the Organiser contains galleries of resources such as clipart or components we provide with the product. It also provides a "scratch pad" which is a "drag-and-drop" clipboard where you can drag and drop copies of objects on your page to be used on other pages.

To use a Resource from a Gallery:

  1. Ensure that the page you want to use the resource on is displayed in Page View.

  2. At the top of the panel is a list of different galleries. The lock symbol alongside the name indicates whether you can add items to the gallery. Click on the name of the gallery you want to display. Its content will now be displayed in the rest of the panel.

  3. If necessary use the scroll bar to move up and down through the contents to find the object you require.

  4. Click on the object you require and, keeping the mouse button pressed down, drag the object across onto the page in the Page View. Or simply double-click on the object you require.

  5. Release the mouse button and the object will be placed on your page

Note:
When an object from a resource gallery is dropped onto a page it will not stay where you dropped it but will take up its original position. You can move the object to a new position if required.

Page Templates

This section of the Organiser provides a series of ready-made skeleton pages for you to use in your publication. They provide a selection of useful combinations of core objects such as titles, bullet lists and images already laid out in a professional manner.

All you need to do is edit the content as indicated on the template.

To use a page template in your publication:

If necessary use the scrollbar to move up and down through the palette of templates, reviewing the thumbnails to find the one most suited to your requirements.

  1. Double-click on the page template you want to use.

  2. A new page will be created in your publication using the Master Style you have chosen and superimposing the template you selected.

  3. The Organiser will automatically switch back to the Pages section with your new page selected.

  4. Your new page will be displayed in the Page View ready for you to edit.

  5. You can now edit the content of the new page or repeat the procedure above to add further new pages to your publication.

Objects

This section provides a tree-style view of every object in your publication so you can easily select the one you wish to work with and move the order in which it appears on the page.

Actions

This section provides a similar tree-style view of all the actions of a selected object so that you can easily select one for editing.
