Home Action

The Home action will open the default page for the browser window in the Browser object you specify in this action. This action is useful as a shortcut back to your Home page – if it is the default page for your browser.

Note:
To use this action you must have drawn at least one Browser object on the current page – see Using the Browser Tool for more information.

You must also have Internet Explorer v3.00 or above installed on your system. Users of your publication will also require Internet Explorer 3.00 or above installed on their system.

Setting up the Home action:

1. Add the Home action to your trigger, as described in adding actions. The Home tab will automatically appear when you add the action.

2. Use the Select the Internet browser this action applies to… panel to select the Browser object on the current page that you want to use. Click on the down arrow to the right of the Browser box to list all of the Browser objects that appear on the current page.

Note:
If the drop down box is empty, then there are no current Browser objects on the current page; therefore you will not be able to use this action.

3. Click on the Apply button to save your changes.

The default page is not the first page opened in the Browser object window – it is the standard page that appears when you open your browser window. For example, in Internet Explorer, the default page is set by selecting Internet Options… from the Tools menu of the browser window, this will open the Internet Options dialog – in the Address box on the General tab enter the name of the Home page (i.e. default page).
