Resources are an important part of your publication and it is worth spending a little time understanding what they are and how to manage them, to save a lot of potential trouble in the future. Managing resources is very quick and easy in Creator but the benefits can be enormous – especially if you have ever had the message about missing resources when you open a publication!
Below is a brief description of the topics discussed in this chapter:
Using Resources – explains what resources are and how they are used in Creator and why you should consolidate resources.
Consolidate Resources – describes how to create a Resource folder in which all resources you have used in your publication are kept.
Purge Resources – how to delete resources from the Resource folder that are no longer used in your publication.
Check Resources – check if any resources are missing from your publication.
Change Data Paths – how to remap your Resource folder from one location to another on your system.
Note:
Creator provides a Resource Manager that can be used to either check for missing resources or change settings for selected resources before you create a published version of your publication – see Overview of Resource Manager for more information.
