Using the Sound Tool

On the Tools toolbar is the Sound tool image\Icon_Object_Sound.jpg. Use this tool if you want to add a sound to an object on a page that is activated by the Left Mouse Click trigger.

Note:
The Sound tool does not add a sound to a page. Use the Play Sound action to add a sound to a page.

Also, note that the Sound tool automatically adds a Left Mouse Click trigger on your object. If you manually set up a Play Sound action, you can add it to any trigger you require.

To add a sound using the Sound tool:

  1. On the Tools toolbar, click on the Sound tool button. When you move the mouse over the page, the arrow cursor image\Cursor_Arrow.jpg will change to the sound cursor image\Cursor_Sound.jpg.

  2. Click the object on the page that you want to add the sound to. The Sound Browser dialog will open to allow you to select a sound file. If the sound file you want is not one of the default sounds, click the Browse other locations… button to access the standard Opus file browser and locate your sound file with that.

  3. Once you have located your file, click on the OK button to close the Sound Browser. A Left Mouse Click trigger and a Play Sound action will be added to the object’s Actions dialog box.

Note:
Any sound added to an object using the Sound tool can be edited like any other action. Simply open the object’s Actions dialog, then click on the Play Sound action in the Actions Organiser to change the options that are currently set for the action.
