Sound Browser

The Sound Browser dialog is a QuickBuild feature designed to make finding common sound files quick and easy. Rather than having to navigate to the file location with the full-featured media browser, all the sounds supplied with Opus are available at the click of a button.

The Sound Browser can be accessed from the Play Sound action property page and the Sound Tool.

Using the Sound Browser

The Sound Browser dialog has a number of sections:

  1. The categories of sounds are displayed in a tree view on the left of the dialog. Click on the category names to show the available sounds in the list on the left.

  2. The Automatically preview check box determines . If the box is checked then whenever a sound is selected in the list it is automatically previewed.

  3. The Play and Stop buttons can be used to control the previewing of a sound file.

  4. The Browse other locations… button will open the standard Opus media browser. This allows you to access media files in any location available from your computer.

  5. Click OK to accept the selected sound or Cancel to exit the browser without selecting a file.

Note:
If you want to add your own sounds or categories to the Sound Browser, simply copy your files into folders in the Sounds directory wherever you installed your copy of Opus. Typically this will be in C:\Program Files\Opus Version - where Opus Version is the name of your version of Opus (i.e. Opus Pro 7)
