QuickTime VR tab

The QuickTime VR tab in the Properties dialog box will only appear in the dialog for QuickTime VR objects. This tab allows you to load and set up a QuickTime VR movie.

Note:
Try to match the size of your QuickTime VR to the same size as you want to use it in the publication, this will avoid unnecessary performance overheads.

To edit the QuickTime VR tab settings:

  1. Click on the Browse button to the right of the Filename box to locate the QuickTime VR movie you want to show in this object. The Windows Open File dialog box will appear, which allows you to locate the file you want.

If you click on the drop down button beside the Filename box, a list of QuickTime VR movies you have most recently added to Opus will appear. You can select one of these QuickTime VR movies instead of using the Browse button.

Once you have selected a QuickTime VR movie file, a warning message will appear explaining that saving your publication may take some time if the size of the movie is large.

  1. In the Display Options panel of the tab, select how you want to display the video in relation to the bounding box on the page containing it.

  2. Click on the Fixed option if you want the movie to appear at the top left corner of the object’s bounding box. The movie will be the same size as it was originally created.

Note:
You may need to resize the bounding box to show all of the movie.

  1. Click on the Centred option if you want to centre the movie in the bounding box.

  2. Click on the Scale to Fit option if you want to stretch the movie to fit the bounding box you have drawn. This will activate the Keep Aspect option (see next point).

Note:
If you change the size of the bounding box, the movie will continually stretch to fit the new size of the box.

  1. Click on the Keep Aspect option if you want a movie that has been set to Size to Fit to retain its shape and be un-stretched.

Note:
This option will keep a movie in proportion (aspect ratio) and prevents the movie looking stretched or out of shape.

  1. Set the Use Mouse Cursors option. If this option is checked the mouse cursor will change to those specified by the QuickTime VR object . If it is unchecked the default cursor will be used.

  2. Set the Allow Mouse Navigation option. If this option is set the user can interact with the QuickTime VR movie with their mouse. If it is unchecked the mouse navigation is disabled. The only way to interact with the movie is via actions or scripting provided by the publication author.

  3. Click on the Apply buttons to save your changes.
