Introducing the Variables Actions

The second menu in the Programming tab is the Variables menu. This menu contains a variety of actions that allow you to change the value of a variable. The actions can be categorised as follows:

(i)  Set Variable actions – these are actions that can be used to change the value of a standard variable or an array variable. The actions are the: Set Variable, Set Variable to Expression, and Set Variable Array actions.

(ii) Math actions – there are basic actions that allow you to change the value of a variable containing a number with a new number. The actions are: Add, Subtract, Multiply and Divide action. A Round action allows you to round a number to the nearest whole number, while the Format Variable to String action allows you to add leading zeroes and set the number of decimal places for a number.

(iii) Reset action – the Reset action allows you to reset the variables to their original value, as when you created them.
