The Follow Path control options

When you select the Follow Path category in the Animation Wizard, the third page of the wizard will display a list of animation paths you have drawn on the current page. The following pages in the wizard allow you to set a number of options to control the way the object follows the animation path.

Setting the Follow Path options:

  1. Click on the Animation Path from the list provided, then click on the Next button.  

Note:
If you have not drawn any Animation Paths on the current page, an error message box will be displayed asking you to create a path before using this option in the Animation Wizard.

  1. Set the position of the object when it follows a path. Click on either the Absolute or Relative button, then click on the Next button.

  2. Set the speed of the object when it follows a path. Click on one of the options in the speed control list, and then click on the Next button.

  3. Set the number of seconds in the time box the object should take to travel from the beginning to the end of the path. Use the spin buttons to increase or decrease the number of seconds in the box, then click on the Next button.

  4. Set the alignment of the object when it follows a path. Click on either the Fixed or Aligned button, and then click on the Next button.

  5. Set the number of Repeats the animation should do before it stops following the path. Click on either the Once or Continuously buttons or use the spin buttons to set a specific number of times, then click on the Next button.

  6. Set what the object should do when it reaches the end of the path. Click on the Stop, Return or Reset option, and then click on the Next button.

  7. Click on the Finish button to save your changes and close the Animation Wizard.
