This action allows you to update sections of your publication by replacing pages or chapters with new versions which have been supplied via the internet or CD-Rom. It is used in conjunction with the Create Updates option in the publishing process.
To use the action simply apply it to a trigger as before and then specify the location where the new files can be found by typing it into the box provided.
You can insert a variable as part or all the location by using the variable button and selecting a variable or by typing the variable name (surrounded by < and >) directly into the edit box.
When creating the install program for the updates you should ensure that they are installed into the location you have specified here.
When the action happens in the publication, Opus will automatically check that location for updated versions of the pages/chapters of the current publication and then copy them over. To avoid the process trying to overwrite a page which is being used we recommend that the Update Publication action is situated on a dedicated page which is not part of the section(s) being updated.
