Delay Action

image\Action_Delay.jpg

The Delay action allows you to delay another action by a set period of time measured in fractions of a second. This can be useful for not only holding up a particular action for a set period of time but for putting pauses in the middle of a series of actions.

Setting up the Delay action:

1. Add the Delay action to your trigger, as described in adding actions. The Delay tab will automatically appear when you add the action.

2. Use the Time option in the Delay Type panel to set a specific time. Use the spin buttons to edit the Time to the required amount.

3. Use the Variable option in the Delay Type panel if you want to use the contents of variable to set the time. Click on the down arrow to list all of the variables in your publication. Alternatively, click on the New button if you have not yet created the variable. This will open the New Variable dialog box. In the dialog box, type a new name for the variable and add the contents in the Value field.

Note:
The variable must contain a number and not alphabetic characters.

4. Click on the Apply button to save your changes.
