This is a conditional action for the whole course allowing you to set up a series of actions which are dependent on a specific state of the course. It is a version of the Programming IF but specific to the Course, details of which are set up on the Course tab of the Publication Properties. It does not perform an action itself, you add further actions beneath it which you want to rely on the condition being tested.
Add the Course Condition action to your trigger, as described in adding actions. The Course Condition tab will automatically appear when you add the action.
Choose one of the Perform action if… radio buttons to decide if you want the action to check if the situation is true or false.
You can then select a radio button to check for the following:
Course Finished – the course has been finished – all questions assigned to all the topics in the publication have been answered.
Course Passed – allows you to specify a series of actions to be performed if the course was passed such as display a certificate.
Course Failed – allows you to specifiy a series of actions to be performed when the course has been failed such as check which topics have been failed and display advice for revision.
Click the Apply button to save your changes.
You can also use the Course Passed and Course Failed triggers if you want actions to happen at the time the topic is passed or failed. The Course Condition action is designed to test for a pass or a fail at a subsequent time.
Note:
Topics and courses are only passed or failed if they have been completed – that is, if all the questions in them have been answered.
