Get support

Digital Workshop is committed to providing the highest level of support for all our multimedia authoring and creativity products. In addition to technical support for our products we provide extended support to ensure you get to grips with the key aspects of interactive multimedia and gain the most from the features of Opus.

There are are tutorials and worked examples to cover important features both on this website and provided with the program. In addition, our web forum allows users to exchange skills and ideas.

Opus includes powerful control over animation, video, sound as well as features such as texturing and blending. As with all multimedia programs, Opus uses a computer system resources beyond standard office applications and accesses features in your graphics card, sound card and video playback software (codecs). As a result you may sometimes find you hit a technical problem and need some support.

Before Contacting Support

Over 90% of our technical enquiries are actually not bugs but simply temporary issues with resources or memory and can be solved by careful investigation of the issue. In the help file provided with both Opus Pro and Opus Creator we have outlined some of the steps to solve issues or at least identify where the problem lies. Please check the Solving Problems with Publication section before contacting the support team.

Contacting Technical Support

The remaining technical issues are usually related to specific combinations of hardware or security settings in browsers or Windows and so we have a special support feature to help us help you more quickly.

We have a special email reporting system built into program and provided on the Help menu of both Opus Creator and Opus Pro, via a Contact Technical Support option.

This system automatically includes all your system details we need to get started and will assign a unique ticket to your enquiry ensuring it gets dealt with efficiently.

Please note that some security settings now prevent us accessing your email program. In this case there is an option to copy the system details to the clipboard so you can insert them into a manually-created email.

You can also get support via the user forum on this site or email  support@digitalworkshop.com. or join us on twitter @DWOpus

Windows Vista and Windows v7 and v8

From v6 onwards both Opus Pro and Opus Creator, and interactive multimedia publications made with them, will run under Vista, Windows v7. Opus Pro v8 has also been tested with Windows v8 without problems. Most publications created in v5 or earlier will still run perfectly well and there are no plans to make earlier versions of the editor compatible. With the release of v8 Opus includes further optimisation for Windows 7

For the best performance and compatibility we recommend Windows v7 or v8 and Opus Pro v8.
