Showing and Hiding Objects

All objects you create on the page will automatically be shown when the page is revealed. However you can set objects to appear only after a certain time or to appear in response to a trigger.

In many of the templates provided with the program objects are set to appear in turn in response to you clicking on the left mouse button or pressing the space bar but you can easily change this so that they appear immediately the page is displayed.

To show an object after a set time:

  1. Double-click on the object you want to apply the setting to.

  2. On the General tab click the Initially hidden box.

  3. Click the Show After option so that it is ticked.

  4. Set the delay before the object appears by clicking the spin buttons up or down or by typing the required amount into the time box.

To show an object in response to a trigger:

  1. Double-click on the object you want to apply the setting to.

  2. On the General tab click the Initially hidden box.

  3. Switch to the Actions section of the dialog.

  4. Add the trigger you want to trigger the object to be shown

  5. Switch to the Actions palette and select the General sub-level tab

  6. Double-click on the Show action icon.

  7. On the Show tab select the object you require by clicking on it so the checkbox is ticked.

To show an object from the Page Templates without clicking:

  1. Select the object you want to appear without any interaction.

  2. Click the Initially hidden button on the toolbar so that it is up.
