Selecting Objects Hidden Beneath Another

Sometimes you can have objects that are positioned underneath other objects and therefore difficult to select on the page. Opus provides a special Lock Selectionimage\Icon_Lock_Selection_Off.jpg tool on the Tools toolbar

to let you select through objects.

To select objects hidden beneath another:

  1. Move the mouse over the object hidden beneath another.

  2. Hold down the Alt key and then click repeatedly on the objects until the one you want it selected. A bounding box will surround the selected object.

  3. If you are going to be working with the object for a while, click on the Lock Selection tool image\Icon_Lock_Selection_Off.jpg on the Tools toolbar. Alternatively, you can press Ctrl+L to lock the current selection.

Note:
When the Lock Selection tool is down image\Icon_Lock_Selection_On.jpg, only the currently selected object can be selected. Press Ctrl+L again or click the Lock Selection tool again so that it is up image\Icon_Lock_Selection_Off.jpg, and now you can select any other object on the page.
