Type tab (Opus DVD only)

The Type tab in the Properties dialog box for a page allows you to change the type of the selected page. Opus DVD uses page types to determine what features are available for that page. For information on what each page type is used for and their benefits and limitations, see the Page types in Opus DVD topic.

To edit the Type tab settings:

  1. Click the Normal Page option to set the current page as a Normal page. These pages have no specific settings.

  2. Click the Menu Page option to set the current page as a Menu page. The pages have several specific settings:

Notes:

Only one hotspot style can be specified per menu page.

Using image hotspots the image is centred within the object used as the hotspot. For this reason the most effective way to use image hotspots is to draw the hotspot object next to any menu text, rather than setting the hotspot on the text itself.

Note:
DVD players take a noticeable period of time to reset at the end of a looped menu page. If the page time is set to a very short period then it can become difficult to select a menu item as the menu state is reset at the end of each repeat. It is therefore recommended that if the Repeat at end option is used, the Run page for time should be set to a minimum of 10 seconds, and longer if disk space permits.

  1. Click the Video Page option to set the current page as a Video page. Video pages have several specific settings:

Note:
This is an advanced option. Opus cannot detect in advance whether the source file is DVD compatible, so you should only check this option if you are certain the file is in the correct format.

  1. Click on the Apply button to save your changes.
