Overview of OpusScript

Opus Pro includes a full scripting language named for developers called OpusScript*pop_defOpusScript, which allows even more sophisticated combinations of actions to be created than with the presets built into the Opus interface.

It is intended as a way of writing self-contained functions and extensions to the functionality provided in the core of the program and not as a replacement for a full-blown programming language.

As there are many aspects to OpusScript, it has its own Help file describing all of the features it contains.

To open the OpusScript Help:

  1. Click on the Help menu at the top of the Opus Editor.

  2. Select the OpusScript Help option.

  3. Alternatively, the help file is in the same folder as you installed Opus Pro on your machine. The name of the file is OPUSSCRIPT.CHM – double-click the icon or filename to open the Help file.

Note:

Many of the actions you can add to an object in Opus have an equivalent OpusScript function. As a reference, we have included within this help file links to particular topics in the OpusScript Help file, where appropriate.

However, for a full description of the features available in OpusScript and how to add and create an OpusScript program, we advise that you open the OpusScript Help for more information.
