Moving Objects

You can move any object anywhere on the page. You can even move an object off the page entirely if you want – you might do this to allow it to animate onto the page after a certain amount of time or you may want to move it partially off the page as a design element.

To move an object around the page:

  1. Select the object by clicking anywhere on it. A bounding box will appear to indicate that it is selected.

  2. Make sure that you have not selected the bounding box itself. Hold the mouse button down and drag the object around until it reaches the position you require.

Note:
If the grid option is on, the position of the object will be restricted to the grid positions.

  1. Release the mouse button and the object will now remain where you left it.

To move an object off the page:

  1. Select the object by clicking anywhere on it. A bounding box will appear to indicate that it is selected.

  2. Make sure that you have not selected the bounding box itself.

  3. Press and hold down the Ctrl key.

  4. At the same time hold the mouse button down and drag the object around until it reaches the position you require. You will find that you can now drag the object beyond the edge of your page if you wish.

Note:
When an object goes off the page you can still see the contents of the object e.g. you can still see the image in an Image object. If you preview your publication, you cannot see the object, only objects that appear on the page area itself.

  1. Release the mouse button and the object will now remain where you left it.
