Installing Opus

To install Opus from the download:

  1. If you have not already downloaded the software, click the link in the sales email to download the program. This will download a setup executable to the directory you specify on your hard disk.

  2. Once the download completes, locate the file you just downloaded (which will be called Opus_Pro_9.exe or similar) and double-click to launch it.

Note:
When installing under Windows v7 or Vista please ensure that you have full administrator rights before installng Opus or turn off the User Account Control completely. If in doubt, right-click the file and select Run As Administrator. Please also see the note about installation location in Technical Troubleshooting.

  1. The Installation Program dialog will appear on the screen.

  2. Simply follow the on-screen instructions.

  3. You will be given the option to select certain elements to be installed or not.

  4. Once installed we recommend you copy the original setup executable to a CD –Rom or USB drive for backup purposes.

Using the Activation Code:

  1. When you run the download for the first time or if you have been evaluating Opus Pro using the Try-and-Buy version or you will be presented with a screen asking for your registration code.

  1. To register your copy you need to select the "I have purchased the full product" option

  2. Then paste or type your activation code in the box provided. This code will have been included in the your order email:

  3. Type the name of the licensee in the box labelled "Registered to:" This is for your own convenience and is not relevant to the activation and should be used to note the licensee of the product.

Installation Problems:

  1. On some Windows v7 and Vista systems you may be asked to confirm that the installation installed correctly. Or you may get a warning that a DLL did not register properly. This is a backwards compatibility issue and Opus will still function perfectly well and you can confirm that the installation completed properly.

  2. If you find that the installation fails, try deselecting some or all of the additional options in the install program. You can also try turning off your virus checker temporarily.

  3. We strongly recommend that Opus is not installed while a File Manager or Registry Management software is running.

If you continue to have problems installing Opus please see the Technical Troubleshooting section and if problems still persist contact support@digitalworkshop.com.
