Colour Picker

A Colour Picker button image\Palette_Tool_Dropper.jpg is provided at the bottom of the Colour Palette. This tool allows you to select a colour from anywhere on the screen. It is most useful for picking up colours you have used in images or other objects on your page but the colour does not need to be on your page or even part of Opus.

To select a colour using the Colour Picker:

  1. Click on the Colour Picker button at the bottom of the Colour Palette. The cursor will change to the Colour Picker.

  2. Move the cursor over the page, object or part of the screen that matches the colour you require. The Colour Indicator box in the Colour Palette changes to reflect the colour currently beneath the cursor.

Note:
The RGB value of the colour the picker is currently over is displayed in the Status bar at the bottom of the Opus Editor. This can also be useful if you need to know RGB values for a script function.

  1. Click with the Left mouse button to set the Fill (background) colour. Click with the Right mouse button to set the Pen (Outline) colour.

Note:
The Colour Picker button is also available at the bottom of the drop down colour well that appears in various places within Opus, such as on the Background tab of an object’s Properties dialog box.
