flexibility allows for individual learning resources
Since the early days, when it was still called Illuminatus, Opus has been popular
for providing resources for helping people with special needs. It is so
easy to use that material can be easily adapted to meet individual requirements
by the very staff who understand the student and their particular requirements.
No need to try to explain to technical staff or programmers.
Chris Hopkins and her colleagues provide resources and templates for children
with profound learning disabilities
and regularly provide seminars on using Opus to meet particular requirements.
The resources use one or two switches or keyboard overlays and rewards users with audio visual material - favourite music videos for example.
